How Can i ease the pain of kidney stones?

My boyfriend and I just got back from the ER and they told him he has kidney stones and they gave him some pain killers but they are not doing enough. He is throwing them back up and throwing up all the water he drinks and everything he eats. I dont know what to do. How can i help him ease the pain? I tried makin him soak in a hot hot hot bath and i gave him pedialyte and water so if any body has any ideas PLEASE help me!!!
