Nose piercing - salt water - dry skin?

I got my nose pierced a lil less than a week ago and ive been soaking my nose in salt watr for about 15 mins everynight and my skin around my piercing is SO dry around my piercing it kinda hurts :( is the salt water a cause for it? is it normal? what should i do?
