How can I set up wifi on my ps3 20gb?

I bought a ps3 on craigslist. i didn't know it was a 20gb without internal wifi. I was trying to bridge the ps3 to my computer like i did with my xbox but its not really working. I can connect online sporadically using that method but i get the error code 80710723 a lot. i have the ps3 in my room and the router is in the computer room so an ethernet cable isn't going to be feasible. is there any way to bridge the connection and can I get step by step instructions? i googled the hell out of this for the past 2 days but i couldn't find any ironclad instructions. any relevant help is appreciated. thanks
