no, you're not wrong for wanting to cut him out of your life. i understand that you want to try and help because he's not doing himself any favors... but you can not help someone who does not want to be helped. the fake and arrogant personality is more than likely a front for how insecure he really is. he is not your problem, don't make him your problem. it looks like he needs to learn about life like the rest of us, the hard way.
